Seems to be exactly what I wanted and needed to turn on/off appliances during high cost electric rate times. We have just switched our electric service to the variable rate ‘Time of Use’ (TOU) where it costs 6 cents a KWH ‘off peak’, 10 cents per KWH, ‘shoulder period’ and an astounding 24 cents per KWH ‘high demand times’ which is why I purchased two of these programmable timers.

Works great but not UL approved I happen to like this thing a great deal. The timing feature is really good and it has more options than most timers. It looks nice and I like how much room you have between the plug and the time of itself so it’s easier to program when somethings plugged in.
