Beats having to spend $6,000 on zoning my system I live in a 4 floor house with 2 existing zones. It would cost me $6,000 or more to zone the two floors that are not currently zoned. Instead I installed 2 Ecobee3 thermostats and bought 2 additional sensors. Now I’ve got 2 systems averaging the temperature across 6 rooms on 4 floors. Sweet. Also having the humidifier directly integrated is nice. On the whole I like this system so far.
Ecobee3 and remote sensors is a delight I fitted two of the Ecobee3 smart thermostats to a relative’s house, upstairs and downstairs which had separate air supply from gas furnace and chiller. Original upstairs thermostat on landing was dominated by heat from downstairs so bedroom temperatures had varied uncontrollably. Replaced with Ecobee3 and put remote sensors in 3 bedrooms and ‘unticked’ control from landing thermostat, the result is even bedroom temperature even when outside temp varied between 55F down to 10F.
