May save you a lot of work! These cover plates are exceptionally useful in the event you are replacing a thermostat and damage, old screw holes, unpainted areas, or junction boxes are now visible because the new thermostat has a smaller footprint. Fits other Honeywell thermostats I got this for my model rth2310b which is the basic 5/2 programmable thermostat from Honeywell (the one with the blue screen). This plate fits perfectly for our thermostat, hiding the hole in the wall behind it where the old round mercury one used to rest. I’m not sure why Honeywell doesn’t advertise this as fitting more than one or two of their thermostats because the pre-drilled holes for both of the plates this comes with will work with many of their products. Great Product – Easy Way Out! These face plates are definitely the easy way out and I’m all about that. We recently replaced two OLD thermostats with Honeywell programmable versions but ran into a little issue since the old ones were HUGE and the new ones were much smaller.
