Wi-Fi capabiliy is a plus for humidity and leak notification. You need this if you have a crawlspace or area that is hard to monitor or access for water damage and moisture. A bit overkill if you just need a leak detector alarm, but the fact that this unit will send info to your smartphone is a plus.
