Horrible for Multi-Stage heat pumps with electric coil backup I purchased this thermostat because I like the programmable setback features as well as the ability to see how long the system has ran in a given day. However, during the heating season my heat bill almost doubled. I had HVAC techs out 4 times, under warranty thankfully, to check the heat pump and they kept saying it was ok. Finally the last guy who came out determined it was the thermostat. The thermostat will run the heat pump for 15mins (this is preprogrammed and NOT changeable). If it…
A little pricey but works well I bought this thermostat a couple of weeks ago; it has been working well so far and has plenty of bells and whistles. Installation was fairly straight-forward; the instructions were a bit unclear, but one call to their support staff took care of that problem. This unit seems pricy when compared to other thermostats, but it was the only one that I could find for a multi-state heat pump system.
