Worked well with with home automation, then broke EDIT: I was wrong. Other posters who mentioned the INSTEON circuit board being poorly connected were right. My unit stopped responding to the home automation software about 6 months after installation. If I had to do it all over again I would likely buy a Nest.

Poorly constructed: better buy the external Insteon module Considered separately, I am quite happy with Venstar T1800 thermostat and the Insteon 2441V RF-adapter. Control of the Venstar is simple and effective. It has a nice readable screen and large up/down buttons, both of which are nicely backlit. The buttons have a good feel, and are way preferable of any touchscreen soft buttons. Combined with an Insteon controller, this allows one to check, set and automatically control home temperature from anywhere in the world. That is an awesome package. Be…
