works well, programming it is a hassle I’ve had this thermostat for approximately 8 years and it works well… I was surprised to see the product image because it looks exactly the same now as when I bought mine. The programming menus are confusing but once you get it programmed it works well, and the portable remote unit is great because you can put it in the room you want the house calibrated against. Oh yeah, when the batteries die you lose many of the settings and have to reprogram the unit.
Great, but ready for an upgrade I agree with both the other comments. I have had these on three furnaces and they work really well. Particularly useful if you have a thermostat say on the sunny side of the house and want to heat rooms on the non-sunny side. The remote allows me to set the temperature in the room I am in, not guess what setting I need to make at the thermostat.Or worse still, the hear goes off because the temperature has reached the setting elsewhere.
Awesome little device Installation was easier than the Honeywell item of the same idea (I returned the HW one because it wouldn’t power on). The receiver is about the size of your average thermostat, not so honkin big like the HW one. Programming the unit was a PITA but once you have one day entered you can copy the settings for all the other days (or any of the other days you wish). I don’t have another thermometer in the house to test this, but I think this unit reads about 2 degrees cooler than the house…
