A good budget wifi thermostat – Could be easier to install… I picked up this thermostat at Lowes. I had expected to pay $150 for Honeywell’s touchscreen wifi thermostat or as much as $180 for last year’s nest. I was pleasantly surprised to see a wifi thermostat option for around $120.

It worked well for the first two years, so much so that last year I bought a second one for a different heating zone. No way a thermostat should fail so quickly – yet Honeywell must know something as they only warranty the product for one year! WIFI Connectivity did not go smoothly Looking at the reviews and documentation it appeared that this would be a slam dunk. Of course it was complicated first by the fact we were replacing a furnace and the furnace guy was busy. Whatever. On the positive side one I got it working and installed the iPhone app it was great.
